Description
As a Project Manager (PM), the selected candidate is responsible for directing all phases of projects from inception through completion. The PM must have sufficient technical knowledge for the execution of engineering development programs to measure progress against plans, identify and resolve technical problems early, and make sure that design and systems solutions achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.

A strong predictor of success in this role is the ability to coordinate the activities of other functional departments. In many cases, the PM has no direct reports. He/she must influence others through a strong understanding of project needs, and have the ability to make tough budget/project decisions and trade-offs.

As a Systems Engineer, the selected candidate plays a key role in the design and deployment of systems, and focuses on (1) defining customer needs and required functionality, (2) documenting requirements, system designs, and test plans in a clear and concise manner that can be handed-off to another party for build, (3) validating the system built against the customer requirements, and (4) ensuring solutions are correct, reliable and on time through concise planning and execution.

Work with cross functional teams during the proposal phase to identify engineering and material cost estimates required to obtain the best solution that meets DSPCon’s visionary goal and customer requirements.

Develop, implement, and monitor master project plans (work breakdown structures) and budgets.
Formulate and review project plans, subcontracting, and deliverable items, while determining contract costs and ensuring conformity with contract terms and conditions.

Effectively flow down system-level requirements and designs to the engineering staff and provide oversight in the development of lower level software requirements and designs.

Promote the Company’s values every day with your words and actions.

Promote and support an environment that encourages continuous process improvement in all facets of the design.

Prioritize and oversee development activities to ensure tasks are completed with quality, in a timely manner, and within the budget.

Oversee quality of work being produced against schedule and the use of resources to complete the project.

Minimize the Company’s exposure and risk on projects.

Build strong client relationships.

Ensure customer satisfaction by engaging customer in technical discussions, managing customer expectations, communicating designs and plans to customer, and gaining customer acceptance.

Lead team meetings, complete with clear objectives, agendas, and outcomes.

Maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct and regulatory compliance within the organization and its activities.

Represent systems engineering at configuration control meetings, software design reviews, system/software integration and acceptance tests, and technical interchange meetings.

Skills
Minimum of 5 years project management, systems engineering, and hands-on hardware and software engineering experience is required.

BSEE/MSEE or BSME/MSME degree required.
Successful project engineering track record managing the development of technology-based products for commercial and military applications.
