Description
Performs engineering and technical consulting services in solution of engineering problems that are complex or multi-dimensional in nature. Work requires an in-depth understanding of engineering principles, theories, standards, concepts and techniques. Ensures that work conforms to project/task requirements, including defined scope, schedule and budget.

Provides technical guidance, quality assurance, engineering or technical expertise, and training to others. May act as a technical expert in an area of responsibility. Works independently and may lead multi-disciplinary project teams of various natures. Develops solutions to problems of above average complexity, which require regular use of creativity and ingenuity, exercising considerable latitude in determining technical objectives for specific assignment.

Identifies and helps solve complex problems by bringing to bear needed resources and information from across, and outside of the company as needed. Formulates results and conclusions, makes recommendations, prepares reports and makes presentations to Management as required. Initiates planning, engineering and economic studies, evaluations, or special investigations.

Develops and nurtures relationships with key technical counterparts, trade allies and customers within and outside the Company and other external stakeholders. Represents the company on industry, trades and standards organizations (e.g., PJM, RFC, NERC). Required to work during emergencies.

May be required to respond to emergency events.

Job Specifications:
Education/Experience:

*   BS Engineering and 5 years or more professional experience or Master's Degree and 3 years professional experience.

Knowledge:
* Possesses thorough knowledge of US DOT PHMSA Title 49 CFR, Part 192.
* Has experience with data, document and risk management tools.
* Has gas distribution engineering, operations, construction and maintenance experience.
* Can interpret and comply with Federal, State & Local regulations.
* Has demonstrated ability to develop and interpret gas distribution technical standards and material specifications.
* Has experience responding to gas emergency events.
* Has demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership role.
