What To Expect:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a background in robotics and mechatronics to join our team. As a Tooling Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building the most advanced and sophisticatedly engineered construction 3D printers, which we name Franks.

Skills

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent combinations of training/experience.
5+ years of experience required.
5+ of CNC Machining required.
Strong hands-on experience is required.
Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (Catia, Unigrafix, Fusion, or SolidWorks).

Notes

What you will do:
Design custom fixtures, jigs, tools, etc. as needed, providing detailed build-to-print models/drawings for fabrication.
Design fixtures for parts to be CNC machined.
Design fixtures to assemble parts of Franks.
Optimize processes to make them safer, achieve higher productivity, and lower the cost of production.
Design and implement jig designs and modifications to continuously improve assembly and production performance.
Improve the machining process through tooling/fixture optimization, digitalization, etc.
Implement the installation of new tooling from the idea commencement in the production.
Select and optimize cutting tools for CNC machines.
Monitor and analyze issues in the production cycle and make quick troubleshooting to improve the process.

What you will bring:
Strong hands-on experience in tooling, fixturing, and CNC machining (required).
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant combinations of training/experience.
Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (Catia, Unigrafix, Fusion, or SolidWorks).
Experience introducing prototyping, fabrication, CNC machining, and assembling.
Experience assembling and integrating robotic and mechatronic systems.
Working knowledge of common machine shop techniques and a working knowledge of robotics safety systems and safety risk assessments.
Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, proper machining techniques, finishes, hardness, etc.
Expertise in CNC machining.
