Module Material Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:      We are seeking a Module Material Manager. This position is assigned to the Fermilab module fabrication operation's team to obtain, evaluate and coordinate all material related issues needed to build the project in accordance with the contract documents, all safety standards, within schedule requirements and to the highest level of quality possible. The Module Program Manager will report to the Material Management Department Lead. This position requires 20% domestic / global travel.      

Assists in developing detailed schedules for equipment and materials regarding schedule needs versus resource capabilities.      

Plans and implements the material control and management of bulk and engineered equipment to ensure that free-issued and bulk materials meet project module fabrication needs.      

Review’s material status reports related to the module yard scope to provide material delivery updates to Project Module Manager and Module Yard Construction Manager.      

Makes recommendations to improve, raise awareness, be knowledgeable of, and understand the current schedule on all equipment and materials.      

Supports Project Management in identifying and assessing risks regarding equipment and material supply.      

Supports and collaborates with Project Management and other team members on module materials management issues.      

Analyses material allocation forecasts, and provide recommendations to the project for vital corrective action.      

Coordinates & expedites material deliveries from both the Expediting & Logistics functions to ensure no hold-ups in material deliveries.      

Records all Material deliveries via MRR into Smart Plant Materials & issues OS&D for any discrepancies for resolution by Home Office.      

Be a “Hands on” Material Coordinator with a can-do attitude to understand where all materials are located & ensure true & accurate information with regards to Materials.      

Assist Engineering and Procurement Managers in ensuring that Module Yard Quality control plans and schedules are in place, and that problems and concerns are being given proper attention.      

Issue weekly/monthly reports of module material management activities for the project and maintain Materials Logs and Inventory Lists for ready access to module yard equipment and materials.      

Reviews receiving and shipping notices, yard layouts and reports schedule inadequacies.      

Implements ERP systems including Warehouse Inventory and Receiving modules.      


Required Skills / Abilities:
      

Experience in performing Module Yard Material Coordination on EPC projects.      

Piping Engineering background related to the module fabrication.      

Has supervised and led a material coordination team consisting of 2-3 subordinates.      

Strong organization and planning skills.      

Experience in complex material management environments on major capital projects.      

Strong ability to train and mentor less skilled material coordinators to achieve success.      

Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible and adaptable to changes.      


Preferred Qualifications
      

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management or Business with a concentration in supply chain      

7+ years’ experience as Fabrication Yard/Module Yard Material Coordinator in an EPC project environment      

Minimum of 5 years’ experience using planning/scheduling software and systems      

Proficient working in Smart Plant Materials or other Materials Management Systems preferred
