Job Description

CESI is looking for a licensed Professional Engineer for its Concord, NC office to oversee all civil engineering department project activities for multiple projects, monitor department employees, maintain current relationships with clients, build new relationships with clients, lead and support key business pursuits, and manage business and strategy development for the department.

Job Snapshot:
•        Manage, direct, and supervise engineering tasks and projects for all department activities
•        Responsible for business and strategy development, client management, operational oversight, staff development, and overall leadership
•        Observe new markets and transitioning prior and current relationships
•        Implement yearly business goals
•        Establish budgets and schedules for the department
•        Develop and implement effective quality control procedures
•        Develop, establish, and nurture partnerships with new and existing clients
•        Develop strategies to grow the department’s revenue, profitability, service offerings, and geographic presence
•        Responsible for guiding, team-building, and organizational development of individuals through mentoring, training, and reviewing work of department employees
•        Plan, assign, and direct work, and appraise performance
•        Maintain billing percentages set by supervisor/leadership
•        Prepare and review reports, cost estimates, specifications, and tabulation of quantities
•        Initiate, support the preparation, and review of submissions and proposals related to civil engineering
•        Assist with statements/letters of interest preparation and technical price proposals
•        Participate in interviews and presentations, as applicable, and provide input for interviewing, hiring, and terminating employees
•        Manage multiple clients, tasks, and schedule commitments
•        Attend Project Manager meetings and lead department meetings
•        Participate in job fairs and career fairs to support marketing initiatives and talent requisition
•        Other duties as assigned.

Skills

•        Must have PE license
•        Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
•        Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering field
•        Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing employees
•        Must have experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
•        Must have experience with Microsoft Office
•        Ability to communicate with a variety of individuals
