Job Description

We are seeking a Plumbing Engineer/Designer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about detailed plumbing system design and eager to make a meaningful impact on commercial, educational, healthcare, and institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop plumbing and piping systems, including domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas systems, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and calculations using Revit.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines to integrate plumbing systems effectively.
- Perform site visits, field investigations, and system assessments for new and existing buildings.
- Conduct design calculations, equipment selections, and energy efficiency evaluations to optimize system performance.
- Work closely with architects, contractors, and clients to develop innovative solutions tailored to project needs.
- Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
- Stay up to date with industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Take ownership of your work product and contribute to the firm’s collaborative and high-performing environment.

Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required for experienced designers).
- 4+ years of experience in plumbing system design for building projects.
- Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of NY State Plumbing Code, or International Code, NFPA 99 (for medical gas), and other industry standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a commitment to technical excellence.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external clients.
- EIT or PE license (preferred but not required).
- CPD/CDPT accreditation (preferred but not required).
