We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the built environment, an open mind, proficiency in REVIT, and a keen attention to detail for both electrical design and coordination with other trades. This engineer will be instrumental in designing and implementing electrical systems for various building projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. Our markets include K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Multifamily, and Commercial Office. This position also offers a unique opportunity for career advancement to the role of Department Head.
Hybrid work currently includes option to work from home Tuesday and Friday, however must be available for job-site and client meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, junior electrical engineers and other stakeholders to create integrated design solutions.
Prepare detailed electrical design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
Conduct electrical load calculations, lighting design, and power distribution planning.
Review and approve contractor submittals and shop drawings.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices.
Contribute to the growth and direction of the electrical engineering department with the potential to step into a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical design within the building industry.
- Proficiency in Revit, and other design software is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
