Senior Geotechnical Engineer
A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support complex transportation, water/wastewater, and heavy civil infrastructure projects across the Southeast. The company is currently positioned to secure geotechnical work on several major multi-billion-dollar highway projects, making this an excellent opportunity to join a firm entering a significant growth phase. Ideally they would be looking for people to start mid-June once the projects are secured.
Responsibilities
Lead geotechnical projects from proposal through construction.
Oversee subsurface investigations including drilling, sampling, CPT, and rock coring.
Perform and review geotechnical analyses including:
Shallow and deep foundation design
Settlement analysis
Slope stability
Retaining walls
Ground improvement
Pavement design
Earthwork recommendations
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and construction recommendations.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and client coordination.
Provide construction-phase support and field observations.
Mentor junior engineers and support technical development.
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
M.S. in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical focus preferred)
PE license in Georgia, or ability to obtain within 6 months
8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
Experience supporting heavy civil infrastructure projects
Strong communication and project management skills
Experience with software such as LPile, APile, GeoStudio, Slide, GROUP, SHAFT, or GRLWEAP preferred
