Field Engineer - Commercial Construction

Job Description

A leading commercial contractor is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to support project teams across active commercial construction projects throughout the Bay Area. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a long-term career in construction operations while gaining hands-on experience in project execution, coordination, and field management.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn, with the ability to support field operations while working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Support daily field operations on active commercial construction projects
Assist with project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change tracking
Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and vendors
Review plans, drawings, and specifications for project accuracy
Conduct job site walks and assist with quality control efforts
Track project progress and support schedule updates
Assist with material coordination and delivery tracking
Ensure compliance with safety policies and job site procedures

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or related field preferred
0-5+ years of experience in commercial construction, engineering, or project support roles
Internship or field experience within construction preferred
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Procore experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work in a fast-paced field environment

Compensation And Benefits

Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year (based on experience)
