Backend Application Engineer (Junior)

Job Description

At Sarmaya, we build custom enterprise systems powered by Explainable AI and Agentic Workflows engineered around each client's data, governance, and operations. We're looking for a Junior Backend Application Engineer ready to grow alongside systems trusted by global enterprises.

What you'll do

Build and maintain backend services and APIs under the guidance of senior engineers
Write clean, testable code and help integrate data-driven workflows
Support debugging, testing, and deployment of production systems
Learn how Explainable AI and agentic architectures come together in real enterprise environments

What we're looking for

0–2 years of backend development experience (internships and strong projects count)
Working knowledge of at least one backend language (Python, Node.js, Java, or Go)
Familiarity with REST APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and version control (Git)
A genuine curiosity for AI, automation, and clean system design
Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn
