As an intermediate full-stack engineer on the pharmacy team, you will design, build, and deliver software used by millions of Publix customers to digitally engage with the Publix Pharmacy. For example, you will enable customers to review prescription details, request refills, pay for prescriptions, request delivery, find savings, schedule vaccinations, and more, all through the software you create. These solutions include web user interfaces, middle-ware APIs that support both web and mobile interfaces, and the database structures.

Your Impact

Hands-on development creating accessible enterprise-scale web user interfaces, middleware APIs, and database structures
Interpret security requirements, maintain awareness of secure coding practices, and design and implement secure Internet-facing solutions
Read and interpret requirements of varying levels of ambiguity to produce software designs; interface with business analysts, stakeholders, or management to seek clarification of requirements as needed to produce the desired result
Create, modify, and automate unit tests to ensure quality of product delivered
Support quality assurance teams during all phases of the testing process
Plan and execute implementation tasks to implement new software in a complex environment, minimizing downtime and impact to customers
Execute compliance and development lifecycle activities including documentation of security, design, development, and implementation artifacts
Participate in a support rotation that provides front line support for solutions owned by the team, assuring 24/7 access by customers

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
3+ years of professional software engineering experience
2+ years of .Net development experience
1+ years of database experience, including data modeling and scripting (any ANSI SQL-compliant platform)
1+ years of experience developing RESTful services
1+ years of experience using object-relational mapping (ORM) framework
1+ years of web front-end development using technologies like React, JQuery, Bootstrap
1+ years of experience with CI/CD toolchain solutions
1+ years of experience with a unit testing framework
1+ years of experience with any public cloud platform

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Experience implementing SOLID design principles and clean coding practices
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform
Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps platform, git, and Octopus Deploy
Experience with .Net 8 or later development
Experience with the Oracle database platform
Experience with Entity Framework or Dapper
Experience implementing ADA-accessible user interfaces
Experience using Jest framework.

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
