Structural Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Overview
I am working with a well-established structural engineering consultancy with a growing presence in Chicago that is looking to add a Structural Engineer to their team.
This firm has built a strong reputation over the past 30+ years for delivering innovative, practical structural solutions across a wide range of building types. They operate nationally but maintain a close-knit, Midwest-rooted culture, with offices that collaborate closely as one integrated team.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
From my conversations and market insight, this is a business that genuinely differentiates itself through its culture, collaboration, and exposure to meaningful work:
The team operates with a highly collaborative, "one office" mentality, with daily interaction across locations and involvement from engineers at all levels
Despite a traditional structure, there is a flat, inclusive dynamic, encouraging input from junior engineers and supporting their development
The firm prides itself on being personable, responsive, and relationship-driven, both internally and with clients
Engineers are typically exposed to a broad range of projects and materials, offering strong technical development
Employee feedback highlights flexibility, strong learning opportunities, and involvement in interesting projects, albeit within a fast-paced and occasionally demanding environment
Overall, it's a culture that suits someone who wants to be technically challenged, visible within a team, and part of a collaborative design process.
