Senior Risk Engineer
Location: Danville / San Ramon, CA (Hybrid)
We are seeking a Senior Risk Engineer to support engineering, testing, and analytical work across complex energy infrastructure systems. This role focuses on identifying, diagnosing, and solving technical problems while improving system reliability, safety, and performance.
The position has a strong emphasis on risk modelling and risk management, supporting large-scale transmission and distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and apply risk modelling and engineering analysis to support decision-making
Provide technical coaching and oversight to junior engineers
Review and validate test designs for feasibility and accuracy
Lead complex testing, prototyping, and system evaluation activities
Define project scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements
Conduct failure analysis, inspections, and performance assessments
Design and execute test protocols and analyse results under operating conditions
Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and stakeholder presentations
Support bid proposals and cost estimation activities
Identify process improvements, efficiencies, and innovation opportunities
Collaborate across teams and represent the organisation in technical forums (as required)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline)
5+ years of engineering experience
Strong background in testing, modelling, or analytical engineering work
Preferred
Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Professional Engineer (PE) licence
Strong expertise in statistical modelling, data analysis, or machine learning
Willingness to travel (10%–75% depending on project needs)
