Key Responsibilities
Support project initiation, planning, procurement, and engineering design activities for capital improvement projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, evaluate alternatives, develop cost estimates, and assess return on investment.
Coordinate engineering design efforts, material specifications, construction documentation, and procurement activities.
Manage competitive bid processes for equipment, materials, and construction services.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare project presentations, status reports, and recommendations for management.
Provide technical support during engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout phases.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and company procedures.
Support project execution in a heavy industrial environment, working closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and construction teams.
Assist with portfolio management activities and project prioritization efforts.
Project Types
This position supports capital projects at power generation facilities, including:
Major maintenance projects involving boilers, turbines, environmental systems, ductwork, fans, electrical switchgear, and control systems.
Infrastructure repair, replacement, and upgrade projects involving seawalls, compressors, water treatment systems, piping, roadways, conveyors, and building facilities.
Regulatory compliance projects related to security infrastructure, emissions control, settling basins, and safety improvements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any engineering discipline considered).
3–7 years of engineering, project engineering, project management, construction management, or related experience.
Experience managing or supporting projects valued at $500,000 or greater.
Exposure to project management methodologies and project-based work environments.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following industries:

Utilities (Transmission, Distribution, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage)
Oil & Gas
Gas Storage and Pipeline Operations
Municipal Utilities
Wastewater Treatment and Processing
Industrial Facilities Maintenance
Heavy Industrial Manufacturing
Industrial or Commercial Construction
Chemical Processing
Major Infrastructure Projects (Roads, Bridges, Waterways, Transportation)
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) License, preferably in Michigan.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering and construction projects in heavy industrial environments.
