Raytheon’s Land Air Defense Systems (LADS) department is seeking a Chief Engineer (CE) with technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems. In this position, the Coyote CUAS Development Chief Engineer will be responsible for the technical rigor and coordination across functions within the program. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for system analysis, requirements development, hardware design, software design, and system performance to include integration and test. This position will directly interface with the customer from the United States Government (USG). The Chief Engineer will be expected to mentor engineers both technically and with their career. This is an onsite position based in Tucson, Arizona and may require occasional travel. The selected candidate will be assigned to the Land and Air Defense Systems strategic business unit within Engineering.

What You Will Do

Generate and deploy the Design Development Execution Plan across Coyote CUAS development efforts.
Develop and maintain the Technical Baseline and technical execution strategy.
Accountable for the planning, organization, and administration of technical reviews, day-to-day engineering execution, adjudication of technical decisions, and technical baseline control.
Partner with the Program Management Office (PMO) and key stakeholders to develop deliverable packages and support customer meetings.
Support Operations and Supply Chain in procurement and production of POD, POM, and LRIP deliverables.
Conduct technical planning for follow-on contract scope to complete the system design, and qualification and transition to production.
Travel up to 25% to other Raytheon and customer locations across the country and internationally.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience.
Prior technical cross-functional team/project leadership experience and experience balancing program technical, cost, and schedule.
Experience in radar digital exciter systems development and test.
Experience with Risk and Opportunity identification, management, and mitigation/capture plan development and execution.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience interacting and collaborating with senior external technical customers and representatives.
Experience in the development, production, and maintenance of CUAS interceptors.
Experience balancing program technical, cost, and schedule priorities on programmatically impactful tasks/issues and pursuits.
Familiarity with the Raytheon Coyote products.
Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
