Job Title: Engineer 5 / Principal Architect - DevSecOps & Platform Engineering

Location: Irving, TX Hybrid (approved hub locations; onsite required)

Contract Length: 24mo

Pay Rate: $93 - $102

Top Requirements

10-12+ years of software engineering and architecture experience with deep Python expertise
Strong DevSecOps experience (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, security tooling integration)
Experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale systems on Kubernetes/OpenShift

Plusses:

Open source contributions (Conda-Forge, Pixi package manager)
Experience with Harness CD and deployment pipelines
Strong experience with DevSecOps security tools (Sonar, Checkmarx, Black Duck)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience in financial services or regulated environments

Job Summary:

In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult as an expert to develop or influence initiatives and resources for highly complex business and technical needs across Engineering. Consult on the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale, and require vision, creativity, and advanced analytical thinking. Provide expertise to senior leadership on innovative Engineering solutions. Strategically engage with client personnel.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Architecture & Strategy

Define technical vision, architecture standards, and multi-year roadmap for enterprise DevSecOps and platform engineering
Lead architecture governance, reviews, and decision-making processes
Establish enterprise-wide CI/CD patterns, GitHub workflows, and reusable frameworks

DevSecOps & CI/CD Engineering

Design and implement enterprise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and reusable workflows
Integrate security tools into pipelines (Sonar, Checkmarx, Black Duck, secret scanning, DAST)
Define and enforce pipeline gates, compliance automation, and release governance

Platform Engineering & Cloud

Architect deployment automation for OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms using Harness CD or equivalent
Define infrastructure-as-code patterns and GitOps strategies
Design scalable, resilient deployment and release architectures

Security & Governance

Drive adoption of DevSecOps, zero-trust, and shift-left security practices
Lead design of compliance frameworks, vulnerability management, and audit readiness processes
Establish observability, monitoring, and incident response standards

Engineering Leadership

Mentor senior engineers and influence enterprise engineering practices
Lead proof-of-concepts and technology evaluations
Serve as senior technical advisor across engineering, security, and platform teams
Evangelize engineering excellence, DORA metrics, and modern DevOps practices

Innovation & Collaboration

Evaluate emerging technologies (AI-enabled development, automation, platform tools)
Partner with enterprise architecture, cloud, and security teams
Influence enterprise-wide engineering and technology decisions
