### - We are looking for a backend software engineer with professional experience in backend development. - We value experience with Python and/or Java, especially Spring Boot. - We expect hands-on experience building or consuming third-party API integrations. - Familiarity with logistics, freight, or fleet operations is a plus. - Experience with load board integrations, telematics/ELD systems, EDI workflows, or accounting/factoring tools is highly desirable. - Experience with messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or IBM MQ is beneficial. - Background in geospatial backend work, PostGIS, geofencing, or location-data pipelines is advantageous. - Experience with push notification systems such as FCM or APNs is preferred. - We are seeking someone who can work on-site in San Antonio. - We are hiring for ownership, reliability, and strong execution rather than a junior support role.

Responsibilities:

- We will have you build and scale the backend services that power our driver and operator mobile app. - You will handle real-time GPS telemetry ingestion. - You will own the load lifecycle and state management across statuses such as offered, accepted, rejected, in-transit, and delivered. - You will manage document upload and storage workflows. - You will implement and maintain push notification delivery. - You will own the integration layer that connects Monarc to external systems. - You will work with load boards, ELD and telematics providers, EDI transactions, and accounting or factoring platforms. - You will design clean, well-documented APIs for the mobile app, dashboards, and AI pipelines. - You will ensure data integrity, strong performance, and fault tolerance across time-sensitive, high-volume workflows. - You will partner with leadership and the platform engineer on architecture as we expand toward a commercial, multi-tenant environment. - You will take ownership of issues, resolve them, and help us prevent repeat problems.
