### Must have:
### - We require formal training or certification in data engineering, along with at least 2 years of hands-on experience. - We need strong expertise across the data lifecycle, including advanced SQL and working knowledge of NoSQL databases and their use cases. - We look for experience with statistical data analysis and the ability to choose the right tools and data patterns for the problem. - We require extensive experience with AWS and building or maintaining data pipelines using Python and PySpark. - We need strong programming proficiency in Python and PySpark, including writing and running complex queries. - We expect proven ability in performance tuning to improve job execution efficiency. - We value advanced experience using Gen AI models through APIs and SDKs. - We require experience with cloud data lakehouse platforms such as AWS Data Lake, Databricks, or Hadoop. - We need familiarity with relational databases such as Postgres or Oracle, and NoSQL platforms such as Cassandra, DynamoDB, or MongoDB. - We expect strong capability with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or AWS Redshift. - We require experience with scheduling and orchestration tools such as Airflow or AWS Step Functions. - We look for proficiency in Unix scripting, data structures, and serialization formats such as JSON, AVRO, or Protobuf. - We need knowledge of big data storage formats such as Parquet or Iceberg. - We expect familiarity with data processing approaches including batch, micro-batching, and streaming. - We require experience with data modeling methods such as Dimensional, Data Vault, Kimball, or Inmon. - We value understanding of Agile practices, TDD/BDD, and CI/CD toolsets. - We prefer candidates with knowledge of data governance and security best practices. - We prefer experience performing data analysis to generate business insights. - We strongly prefer candidates with deep expertise in Python and Spark.

- We design and deliver secure, stable, scalable data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions. - We develop, test, and maintain mission-critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical domains. - We review data protection controls to ensure enterprise information is adequately safeguarded. - We make tailored configuration updates in tools to support business or customer requests. - We update logical and physical data models as new use cases emerge. - We use SQL extensively and apply NoSQL technologies where appropriate. - We build and maintain enterprise data models and large-scale data processing pipelines. - We lead code reviews and mentor fellow team members. - We improve data quality and make data more accessible for analysts and data scientists. - We ensure solutions align with data governance standards and broader business objectives. - We contribute to a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect. - We work as part of an agile team to support business functions and organizational goals.

We are hiring a Data Engineer III for our Consumer and Community Bank team in Jersey City, New Jersey on a contract basis. In this role, we offer an hourly pay range of $65 to $70, with full-time consultant benefits that may include medical, dental, vision, 401K contributions, and other PTO or sick leave benefits required by applicable state or local laws.
