### Must have:

### - We require a bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Controls, Power Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited university; a masters degree in Power Systems, Power Electronics, Energy, Control Systems, or Software Engineering is preferred. - We look for 10+ years of control software development experience when paired with a masters degree, or equivalent substantial industry experience in place of advanced education. - We need strong expertise in MathWorks Matlab/Simulink for model-based systems engineering. - We require solid knowledge of power system market applications, power generation, and/or energy storage system controls. - We expect hands-on experience with closed-loop control algorithms. - We require proficiency with Agile development practices and Git-based workflows. - We value experience in control software verification and validation. - We prefer familiarity with Simulink code generation and optimization. - We prefer experience with Linux shell scripting and CI/CD toolchains. - We prefer exposure to industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, MQTT, DNP3, and IEC 61850. - We prefer knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop environments such as Typhoon or OPAL. - We need the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time. - We value a self-driven mindset, accountability, and the ability to contribute effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

- We will have you lead the design of our energy storage system control software for utility-scale and grid applications. - We will have you develop our FOS Controls and integrate grid-scale battery systems and power conversion equipment from leading manufacturers. - We will have you design, build, document, and refine control logic using MathWorks Matlab/Simulink, Stateflow, and C. - We will rely on you to support requisition engineering efforts and troubleshoot field issues to determine root causes. - We will expect you to prioritize robustness, security, performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability in our solutions. - We will ask you to deliver work on schedule and within budget constraints. - We will have you track, manage, document, and communicate progress through Jira and Confluence. - We will expect you to promote a collaborative team environment where ideas can be challenged constructively and resolved quickly. - We will rely on you to understand grid code requirements and provide technical leadership to the team. - We will expect you to work as a hands-on member of the development team and help deliver a releasable increment at the end of each sprint.
