### - We require a high school diploma or equivalent; an associates or bachelors degree is preferred. - We expect 3 years of experience in help desk, network support, or an MSP setting. - We need 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server 2016--2025, and Microsoft 365. - We require 3 years of firewall and network support experience, including routing, switching, VPN setup, and IDS/IPS. - We expect proficiency with core networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPsec, VPN, RDP, LDAP, and NAT. - We need experience with at least one virtualization platform, such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V. - We require the ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical clients and stakeholders. - We require a valid Michigan drivers license and an acceptable driving record. - We require the ability to pass criminal and civil background checks. - We require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. - We prefer experience in an MSP supporting financial services clients, such as community banks and credit unions. - We prefer hands-on FortiGate experience, including FortiOS administration, policy management, SD-WAN, application control, content filtering, and SSL/IPsec VPN. - We prefer experience with Microsoft Intune and Entra ID, including Conditional Access and MDM compliance policies. - We prefer experience with ConnectWise Manage and IT Glue for ticketing and documentation. - We prefer experience with Veeam Backup \& Replication or similar enterprise backup platforms. - We prefer working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and Entra Connect. - We prefer experience with enterprise email migrations from on-premises Exchange to Microsoft 365. - We prefer familiarity with endpoint protection and EDR administration. - We prefer macOS support experience. - At hire, we prefer CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , or Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900) or higher.
Responsibilities:

- We handle escalated tickets from Tier 1 and resolve complex networking, server, Microsoft 365, and application issues remotely and onsite. - We manage and maintain client firewall configurations, VPN tunnels, routing, switching, and wireless systems. - We administer Microsoft 365 tenant environments, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and Entra ID. - We perform Windows Server administration across Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, file services, and print services. - We configure and maintain client backup systems, verify backup integrity, and carry out restore testing. - We monitor security tools, endpoint protection, firewall logs, and RMM alerts, responding to flagged events as needed. - We keep IT Glue documentation current, including network diagrams, device inventories, credential records, and client-specific knowledge. - We document time accurately in ConnectWise PSA and maintain strong ticket hygiene and SLA compliance. - We escalate issues requiring Tier 3 or project team support with complete context and documentation. - We assist Tier 1 engineers informally by answering questions, helping triage unclear tickets, and sharing knowledge. - We participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week primary and one week backup every three months. - We complete onsite client visits when required.

We are an MSP team that serves multiple clients and sits between the help desk and project delivery functions. Our Network Engineer Tier 2 role is a hands-on, technically broad position focused on keeping client environments healthy, handling escalated support, and maintaining strong documentation and service quality. This is an in-person role based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a preferred location at Grand Rapids, MI 49508. We offer a competitive salary of $75,000 to $95,000 per year and benefits including 401(k), 401(k) matching, dental insurance, health insurance, a health savings account, paid time off, professional development assistance, and vision insurance.
