### Must have:

### - We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field; a masters degree in one of these areas plus one year of experience may substitute. - We need strong hands-on experience in Java-based test automation, with deep expertise in Selenium and no reliance on record-and-playback tooling. - We expect solid core Java development skills, including the ability to write and maintain automation code. - We look for experience with SQL for data verification across multiple data sources. - We require familiarity with CI/CD practices and Jenkins-based automation pipelines. - We value experience using version control platforms such as Git, GitHub, or IBM RTC. - We prefer candidates with knowledge of DB2 concepts, EDI transactions such as 834 and 837, SOAP UI, Rational Quality Manager, Agile delivery, AccelQ, and UiPath. - We prefer prior exposure to healthcare, Medicaid, or Medicare environments. - We consider mobile automation experience with Appium or cloud-based platforms such as LambdaTest, Sauce Labs, or BrowserStack highly desirable. - We welcome experience with performance testing or security testing tools. - We look for the ability to apply automation, verification, and validation techniques to cover a wide range of edge cases. - We value candidates who can use AI tools such as Claude and Copilot to improve automation quality, analysis, and productivity.

Responsibilities:

- We ask you to maintain and grow our automated regression test suite. - We expect you to develop, enhance, and support a large Java/Selenium automation framework. - We want you to work with DB2-backed test data and help manage testing assets across a large script library. - We need you to contribute to our modernization efforts as we move toward a more integrated CI/CD delivery model. - We expect you to use Jenkins, TestNG, and related tools to support automated test execution and integration. - We ask you to validate application behavior through automated testing, data checks, and cross-system verification. - We want you to help ensure coverage of functional scenarios, edge conditions, and regression risks. - We expect you to collaborate with our automation test team in support of our partnership with New York State of Health. - We want you to contribute to testing solutions that support our mission of expanding health coverage for New Yorkers. - We expect you to apply innovation and engineering discipline to improve the effectiveness of our test automation practices.

We are hiring for an onsite Software Development Engineer in Test role in Albany, NY, with a schedule that requires two days per week on site plus every other Friday. You will join our Automation Test Team supporting a mission-critical program in partnership with New York State of Health, helping deliver comprehensive health coverage through the Health Benefit Exchange for more than 7.0 million New Yorkers.
