### - We require a high school diploma or equivalent, and we prefer a bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline. - We are looking for at least 5 years of experience in an MSP, systems integrator, or enterprise IT setting. - We need 5 years of Windows Server administration experience across 2016--2025, including Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, DNS, DHCP, DFS/DFSR, and file and print services. - We require 5 years of firewall and network engineering experience, including routing protocols, VPN architecture, and IDS/IPS. - We expect expert-level Microsoft 365 administration skills, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID, and the Defender security suite. - We need demonstrated success leading IT infrastructure projects from start to finish. - We require strong executive communication skills, including the ability to present technical risks, strategy, and recommendations to C-suite and board-level audiences. - We require a valid Michigan drivers license and an acceptable driving record. - We require the ability to pass criminal and civil background checks. - We require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. - We prefer direct MSP experience supporting community banks, credit unions, or other regulated financial institutions. - We prefer FortiGate experience, including FortiOS, SD-WAN, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and IPSec VPN. - We prefer Microsoft Azure administration experience, including virtual networking, compute, storage, Entra Connect, and Azure Site Recovery. - We prefer experience administering Veeam Backup \& Replication. - We prefer familiarity with financial-services compliance frameworks such as FFIEC, GLBA, NCUA, and FDIC. - We prefer ConnectWise Manage administration and reporting experience. - We prefer experience supporting audit preparation for NCUA, FDIC, or Michigan DIFS IT examinations. - We prefer scripting and automation experience with PowerShell or Python for MSP tooling. - We strongly prefer the following certifications at the time of hire: CompTIA Security , Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (MS-102) or Security Administrator Associate (SC-300 / SC-200), and Fortinet NSE 4 or higher. - We require 1 year of IT Help Desk experience. - We require a drivers license. - We require the ability to commute to Grand Rapids, MI, and we prefer candidates located in Grand Rapids, MI 49508.
Responsibilities:

- We lead client infrastructure projects end to end, including scoping, planning, scheduling, execution, documentation, and transition to our MSP team. - We deploy and configure client environments such as workstations, servers, storage, network switching, and firewall systems. - We lead Microsoft 365 migrations and advanced tenant deployments, including hybrid setups, Entra ID, Intune policy rollout, and the Defender security stack. - We design and implement network architectures, including firewall policy frameworks, SD-WAN, VLAN segmentation, and site-to-site VPNs. - We coordinate with vendors, manage hardware procurement timelines, and oversee third-party integrations during project work. - We create thorough project documentation in IT Glue, along with network diagrams, device settings, and client knowledge base articles before closing projects. - We take part in client kickoff meetings, progress updates, and closeout sessions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - We act as the final escalation point for Tier 2 issues that cannot be resolved within the MSP team. - We resolve complex network, server, identity, and cloud infrastructure incidents and document root cause findings. - We review escalated tickets for completeness and coach Tier 2 engineers on remediation approach and documentation quality. - We identify recurring escalation trends and develop runbooks or SOPs to reduce repeat issues at Tier 1 and Tier 2. - We participate in an on-call rotation, covering primary and backup duties on a scheduled basis. - We partner with leadership and account managers on proposals, discovery calls, scope definition, BOM creation, and SOW validation. - We perform infrastructure assessments and gap analyses for prospective clients and present our findings to technical and executive audiences. - We ensure proposed solutions are technically viable, aligned with our delivery capacity, and appropriately sized for client budget and risk. - We mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers through knowledge sharing, ticket reviews, and structured training. - We uphold documentation standards across both teams and keep IT Glue records accurate and complete. - We contribute to internal tooling, automation, and process improvement efforts. - We conduct onsite client visits as needed.

We are RedRock, and this is a high-trust, high-visibility Senior Network Engineer (Tier 3) role based in Grand Rapids, MI with in-person work. This position sits at the top of our technical support structure, serving as the primary escalation resource for both our Project Team and MSP Team.
