Network Engineer - Entry Level

Job Description

Location: Baytown - 100% Onsite

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 12 Months

Rate: $35 - $40/hr. on W2

We are seeking a Network Connectivity Engineer to support enterprise network operations, administration, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

Configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and network connectivity.
Manage incidents, changes, upgrades, and infrastructure outages.
Troubleshoot ACLs, firewall rules, and network performance issues.
Support Active Directory administration, account management, software installations, and documentation.
Automate and improve operational processes using PowerShell and related tools.

Required Skills

Experience upgrading and supporting Cisco Catalyst 9300+ switches.
Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls and AlgoSec (Firewall Analyzer & FireFlow).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience with change management and network administration.

Preferred Technologies

Cisco 9300+, Fortinet, AlgoSec, Splunk, PowerShell, SQL, WinSCP, MoveIT, SentinelOne, Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.

Top 3 Requirements

Cisco switch upgrade experience.
Fortinet and AlgoSec expertise.
Self-driven professional capable of working independently.
