Job Overview:
As an Engineer 2, you will leverage your technical expertise to solve complex business problems. This role requires a subject matter expert who can represent their department on intricate assignments. You will evaluate technology effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation, and recommend improvements to enhance quality and efficiency. Collaborating with technical leadership, you will design, develop, and modify the technology stack, while working with engineers and architects to implement solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-driven communicator who can operate independently and lead DevOps efforts for APIs in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Build and implement new development tools and infrastructure to meet requirements and architectural direction.
Understand stakeholder needs and identify steps to achieve solutions and goals.
Automate and improve development and release processes.
Code, perform unit and integration testing, and ensure compliance with business and technical requirements.
Resolve production application issues to ensure efficient functionality.
Collaborate with managers and team members to meet development standards.
Build and maintain code pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) using Groovy and Python.
Resolve CI/CD issues by reviewing logs and metrics.
Test and analyze code written by others.
Support multiple API versions, failover, blue/green deployments, and high availability.
Utilize AWS services such as Elastic Beanstalk, ALB, ELB, Autoscale, CloudWatch, Redis Elasticache, Code Build, Code Deploy, and Lambda.
Interface with APIs like Artifactory, Confluence, JIRA, GitHub Actions, ServiceNow, SonarQube, Blackduck, and Whitehat.
Write and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, Groovy, etc., to interact with APIs.
Write and review Terraform scripts and logs.
Qualifications:
Commitment to incorporating security into all decisions and responsibilities.
3+ years of experience in DevOps.
2+ years of experience with cloud automation.
Strong communication skills to interact with varying technical knowledge levels.
Proficient troubleshooting skills to resolve configuration issues independently.
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Scrum, JIRA, and Confluence.
Familiarity with the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud platforms.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Shell, Groovy (Java), and Python.
Experience with object-oriented programming languages like Java.
Knowledge of API Gateways such as Kong.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Maven/Gradle, and GitHub Actions.
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
Experience with AWS Lambda for serverless application development.
Understanding of software design methodologies, architecture, and design patterns.
Proficiency in SQL for database management and analysis.
Ability to formalize proposals and instruct others on solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills to triage and resolve issues effectively.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
Experience with Amazon API Gateway and AWS SAM for cloud-based applications.
Basic knowledge of Snowflake Data Cloud and enterprise data warehouses.
Familiarity with tools like Quarkus for modern application development.
Experience in developing applications for large enterprises.
Knowledge of Atlassian products (JIRA/Confluence/GitHub) and ServiceNow.
Understanding of reusable and clean code development.
Knowledge of performance tuning in cloud computing.
Familiarity with networking, load balancing, and high availability concepts.
Awareness of emerging DevOps technologies and trends.
Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Visio.

Pay Range: $55- $60
