Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS services, Kafka, REST APIs, and scalable backend systems. This role involves working on the Frontier project and requires a deep understanding of cloud-native development practices and enterprise integration processes. Candidates with experience in the insurance industry are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant backend systems using AWS services.
Build Spring Boot-based API frameworks and ensure seamless integration with other systems.
Design and implement Kafka eventing mechanisms, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and event schema validation.
Create and manage REST APIs and asynchronous processing workflows.
Utilize CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.
Apply microservices architecture and domain-driven design principles to system development.
Support large-scale platform or tech-enablement initiatives.
Leverage observability tools for logging, monitoring, and tracing to ensure system reliability.
Qualifications:
Strong experience with AWS services, including Amazon S3, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and API Gateway.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and API framework development.
Solid understanding of Kafka eventing mechanisms and message flow.
Proficiency in designing scalable backend systems and REST APIs.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native development practices.
Experience with Liberty systems technology design patterns and enterprise integration processes (preferred).
Exposure to microservices architecture and domain-driven design.
Knowledge of observability tools for system monitoring and tracing.
Prior experience in the insurance industry is strongly preferred.

Pay Range: $60 - $80/hour on W2
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
