We have an exciting opportunity for a Flammability Certification Engineer. This position is an individual contributor role that will report to the Senior Manager Flammability Certification to ensure our products support our customers’ needs. What You Will Do:
Performs collaborative engineering assignments usually represent a significant portion of a larger project.
Represents the Flammability Certification team in internal technical design reviews.
Compiles FAA certification documentation for submission to commercial aircraft OEM's and regulatory agencies.
Responsible for the review and approval of design changes from a certification perspective.
Performs new design analysis and material recommendations based on data.
Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.
Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Participates in defining engineering approaches and in planning/scheduling work.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
Experience analyzing test data and make engineering judgments regarding pass/fail compliance.
Experience interpreting OEM requirements (Airbus, Boeing, etc.) and ensure alignment with internal certification processes.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, parts lists, and material certifications.
Experience with configuration of control principles and document release processes (e.g., PDM/PLM systems).
Qualifications We Prefer:
Familiarity with standard aviation materials.
Prior working experience in the aerospace industry, specifically with aircraft interiors.
Prior experience reviewing and approving drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills include the ability to prepare and give presentations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams.
Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Office Suite applications and engineering related software programs.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
