SLB is seeking a proactive and technically strong Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to join our Mobile, AL engineering team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a problem-solving environment, can translate engineering challenges into actionable solutions, and effectively influences stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on manufacturing performance, equipment reliability, and long-term capital planning while developing leadership capabilities and business acumen. You will play a key role in both internal and external engineering projects, including collaboration with third-party EPC firms, and support bid and proposal activities. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple organizational levels. ## Roles and Responsibilities \* Lead efforts to identify manufacturing equipment issues and develop upgrade or replacement strategies \* Specify equipment purchases or lead design projects with internal teams or external EPC contractors \* Design and evaluate complex engineering solutions, ensuring safety, performance, and cost optimization \* Perform engineering stress calculations and prepare technical reports to support project proposals \* Address manufacturability challenges and recommend alternative engineering designs \* Develop and execute test procedures to assess equipment capabilities and define future requirements \* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, management, and external clients \* Train and mentor team members on engineering practices, codes, and technical standards \* Provide quality oversight by reviewing, editing, and refining technical reports and deliverables \* Actively support bid and proposal processes with technical expertise and input ## Qualifications and Experience \* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field required) \* 5--7 years of relevant technical experience in manufacturing or engineering environments \* Strong knowledge of engineering design, equipment specification, and stress calculations \* Experience with manufacturing processes and equipment evaluation \* Ability to train and mentor others in engineering methodologies and standards \* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills \* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English \* Ability to influence and communicate complex technical concepts clearly \* Experience interacting with operators, management, and external stakeholders \* Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship
