Role Overview:
This role involves sustaining and improving autonomy actions software systems for a critical component of autonomous vehicle deployment. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will maintain, debug, and optimize code that handles vehicle response behaviors, ensuring reliability and safety in real-world driving scenarios. Your work directly impacts the system’s ability to make real-time decisions, reducing incidents and improving passenger experience. The domain requires deep technical expertise in autonomy stacks, with a focus on operational stability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex software issues in autonomy actions modules, including edge-case failures identified in testing or production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reproduce, analyze, and fix bugs affecting vehicle behavior in diverse operating conditions.
• Design and implement improvements to existing autonomy action algorithms to enhance decision accuracy and adherence to safety policies.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites to validate software changes and reduce regression risks before deployment.
• Document technical findings, solutions, and architecture decisions to support knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in autonomous systems, robotics, or a related high-assurance software domain.
• Proficiency in C++ or Python, with strong debugging and code analysis skills in large codebases.
• Experience with autonomy stacks, including perception, planning, or control systems, and familiarity with real-time systems and concurrency.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code, with experience in unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

More About the Opportunity:
This role offers the chance to work on the cutting edge of autonomous vehicle technology, contributing to a system that will be deployed at scale. You will be part of a global team addressing technical challenges that directly influence public safety and trust in autonomous systems. The work includes opportunities to influence architectural decisions and mentorship of junior engineers in a fast-evolving technical landscape.

Equal Opportunity Employer:
We hire based on skills and expertise. All qualified candidates are welcome regardless of background, experience, or prior employment history. Applications are reviewed solely on demonstrated technical ability and qualifications.
