Job Description

The Quality Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the quality management system in a manufacturing environment. This role drives ISO 9001 deployment across departments, ensures customer requirements are consistently exceeded, and uses data-driven methods to enhance product quality, supplier performance, and overall operational excellence. The Quality Manager provides hands-on leadership to cross-functional teams, champions continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives that strengthen the ISO 9001 quality management system across all departments.
Ensure customer requirements are consistently met and exceeded, contributing to improved customer satisfaction and reduced returns.
Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects using tools such as FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Drive robust root cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive action (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of issues.
Plan, conduct, and oversee internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and other applicable requirements.
Coordinate timely resolution of audit findings and track closure of corrective actions to maintain a compliant and effective quality system.
Collect, analyze, and report quality performance metrics, including line acceptance rates (LAR) and customer returns, to support data-driven decision-making.
Monitor and improve supplier quality and performance through audits, collaboration, and corrective action plans.
Work closely with suppliers of machined parts, printed circuit boards (PCB), sheet metal parts, electromechanical assemblies, and valves to ensure consistent quality.
Lead and mentor quality and cross-functional teams, providing guidance, coaching, and support to build a strong quality culture.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring lessons learned are shared and best practices are embedded in processes.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and other functions to integrate quality requirements into new and existing products and processes.
Use statistical tools such as SPC and Cpk to monitor process capability and drive process improvements.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, audit reports, and corrective action records.
Communicate quality performance, risks, and improvement plans clearly and effectively to leadership and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of quality systems and quality management principles, particularly ISO 9001.
Strong expertise in quality engineering tools, including FMEA, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
Proficiency in inspection methods and statistical analysis, including SPC and Cpk.
Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and fishbone analysis.
Proven experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional teams.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory or team lead experience, with demonstrated ability to motivate and guide teams.
Hands-on experience with supplier quality processes, including supplier audits and development activities.
Experience managing internal and third-party audits and maintaining regulatory and standards compliance.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive data-based decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
Broad quality experience across multiple areas rather than a narrow specialization.
Experience working with ISO 17025 or similar standards is advantageous.
Experience in manufacturing environments involving machined parts, PCB, sheet metal parts, electromechanical assemblies, and valves.
Experience planning and executing internal and external audits, including follow-up and closure of findings.
