### Must have:
### - We require a relevant four-year bachelors degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a similar discipline. - We require 6+ years of experience developing photonics communication systems or product engineering in the datacom/telecom industry, such as optical engines, transceivers, switch boxes, or networking racks. - We need deep expertise in optical communication links, related component and module specifications, and R\&D/manufacturing test methods for defect detection. - We expect hands-on capability in setting up DC/RF electro-optical test benches, along with basic test automation coding in Python or a similar language. - We look for a detail-oriented, highly organized, and methodical problem solver. - We want someone who can address engineering challenges and structure R\&D programs for process development. - We value an independent, action-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset with strong product ownership. - We require the ability to travel up to 70% domestically and internationally. - Experience working with manufacturing partners or in-house manufacturing of optical communication systems is preferred. - Product engineering experience in NPI and volume manufacturing ramp phases for optical communication components, modules, or systems is preferred. - An advanced degree in electrical engineering or applied physics is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:

- We provide subject matter expertise to support manufacturing line bring-up and NPI activities for CPO systems in our factories, with emphasis on process design, yield analysis, and root-cause investigation to improve yield. - We develop test strategies, quality control gates, and rework workflows with test engineering and industrial engineering teams to strengthen process control and early fault detection. - We define yield, throughput, and parametric-data dashboards, including automated data analysis, with work cell and data engineering teams to support SPC and systematic yield improvement. - We engage with clients to capture specifications and system requirements for CPO system design. - We support the product design phase with DFM and FMEA guidance. - We train and advise factory product engineers throughout NPI and volume ramp phases. - We work closely with factory operations and engineering teams to continuously improve processes and yield, and to provide engineering support for manufacturing issues. - We stay current on emerging co-packaged optics technologies, especially photonics packaging, fiber-optic connectivity, test and metrology methods, and equipment. - We evaluate and qualify new fiber-optic connectivity solutions, such as blind-mate connectors, shuffle cables, and supporting tooling, for design use and factory adoption. - We perform other related duties as needed.
