Job Title: Principal DevSecOps Architect
Location: Irving, TX
Duration: 24 months
Job/Role Description:
This role serves as the chief technical visionary and enterprise architecture leader driving DevSecOps and release engineering transformation across the data and analytics ecosystem.
Steer platform engineering excellence by establishing CI/CD patterns, IaC templates, and golden-path repos while evangelizing DevSecOps, GitOps (EPLX), and DORA metrics.
Define and own the technical vision, architecture roadmap, and reference architectures for CI/CD using GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, web services, APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns.
Embed compliance controls and security scanning technologies (Sonar, Checkmarx, Black Duck, GitHub Secret Scanning, DAST) into the software delivery lifecycle as enforceable pipeline gates.
Design and govern deployment patterns and automation to OpenShift (OCP) using Harness CD (or equivalent), including promotion, approvals, rollback strategies, and audit-ready traceability.
Establish and chair architecture review boards, create architectural decision records (ADRs), technology roadmaps, and reusable workflow templates that encode enterprise best practices.
Lead architectural alignment of DevSecOps tooling, observability, monitoring strategies, and incident response patterns across engineering, platform, and security teams.
Mentor and guide Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, and Senior Engineers on architectural patterns, sound technical trade-offs, and shift-left security practices.
Drive cultural transformation toward DevSecOps, SRE practices, and engineering excellence through architectural leadership, proof-of-concept initiatives, and cross-organizational influence.
Ensure predictable, enterprise-scale delivery by aligning release governance with platform architecture while reducing operational complexity and risk.
Required Qualifications
Must have demonstrable prior experience with Open Source Contributions to Conda-Forge, Pixi Package Manager, Developing GitHub Actions and CI/CD Automation.
12+ years of software engineering and architecture experience with demonstrated expertise designing systems in Python at enterprise scale.
12+ years of architecting web applications, distributed systems, and platform solutions using industry-standard frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask).
12+ years of designing APIs, frameworks, automation pipelines, and distributed systems with a focus on scalability, resilience, and security.
12+ years with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS) or on-prem platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift, including platform architecture and capacity planning.
10+ years of experience architecting CI/CD pipelines, DevOps platforms, and release engineering systems, including GitHub Actions and reusable workflow design.
10+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python and leading complex engineering initiatives.
10+ years of building web applications and APIs using industry-standard frameworks (Django, FastAPI).
8+ years designing and implementing CI/CD automation and DevOps practices, including GitHub Actions.
5+ years of experience with cloud-native platforms and container orchestration (OpenShift/Kubernetes) including deployment automation.
Hands-on experience integrating automated security scans into CI/CD pipelines static code analysis (Sonar), SAST (Checkmarx), SCA (Black Duck), and secret scanning (GitHub Secret Scanning) and defining enforceable policy gates for release readiness.
Experience designing and operating deployment automation to OpenShift (OCP) using Harness CD (or equivalent), including promotion, approvals, and rollback strategies.
7+ years of security architecture experience including DevSecOps, application security, threat modeling, and compliance automation.
7+ years of enterprise architecture leadership defining architecture standards, governance frameworks, and engineering processes across multiple teams.
Experience utilizing coding assistants (GitHub Copilot) and AI-powered development tools, with ability to define organizational adoption strategies.
Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale technical transformations, cultural change initiatives, and architecture modernization programs.
Ability to work on-site at approved location and collaborate effectively in a hybrid enterprise environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions.
