### - We need strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2, ideally DB2 LUW, DB2 z/OS, or DB2 for i. - We need solid SQL development expertise, including DB2 SQL and T-SQL. - We need prior experience migrating DB2 databases to Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, Azure Synapse, or similar cloud data platforms. - We need experience with SQL Server Migration Assistant for Db2 or comparable assessment and conversion tools. - We need hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, or other enterprise data movement platforms. - We need a deep understanding of DB2 objects such as schemas, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages, and constraints. - We need experience with DB2 data type mapping, SQL conversion, stored procedure remediation, and application dependency analysis. - We need experience with full loads, incremental loads, and change data capture strategies. - We need strong data validation and reconciliation experience. - We need the ability to support production cutover planning and resolve post-migration issues. - We need strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across database, application, infrastructure, and business teams. - Preferred: experience with DB2 z/OS and mainframe-connected applications. - Preferred: experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, batch jobs, or mainframe integration points. - Preferred: experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and ADLS Gen2. - Preferred: experience with Q Replication, IBM CDC, Kafka, Event Hubs, or other CDC technologies. - Preferred: experience with ETL tools such as IBM DataStage, Informatica, SSIS, Control-M, Autosys, or shell scripting. - Preferred: experience with Azure security, encryption, RBAC, private networking, Key Vault, Managed Identity, and audit requirements. - Preferred: experience in regulated enterprise environments such as banking, insurance, healthcare, or telecom.

Responsibilities:

- We assess DB2 environments, including schemas, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, dependencies, and data volumes. - We identify workload types such as transactional, analytical, reporting, and application-dependent workloads. - We support migration planning, including target architecture, wave sequencing, remediation backlog, testing, and cutover strategy. - We use tools such as SQL Server Migration Assistant for Db2, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse Pipelines for schema conversion and data movement. - We convert DB2 SQL, data types, and database objects into Azure-compatible structures. - We identify and resolve compatibility gaps between DB2 and Azure platforms. - We build and maintain pipelines for full, incremental, and CDC-based loads. - We validate migrated data using reconciliation queries, row counts, and business-rule checks. - We optimize Azure performance through indexing, statistics, partitioning, and query tuning. - We collaborate with application teams to evaluate dependencies, integrations, and potential impacts. - We support testing phases, including integration testing, performance testing, UAT, cutover, and post-production stabilization. - We document migration designs, technical decisions, validation outcomes, and operational runbooks.
