### - We require a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university. - We require at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. - You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. - No security clearance is required. - You should be able to create and revise electrical wiring diagrams and drawings. - You should have hands-on experience with AutoCAD, PRO-E, or comparable drafting tools. - You should have experience with MathWorks MATLAB and Simulink. - You should be able to design, implement, modify, operate, and maintain real-time simulators, simulation systems, and support equipment. - You should have an interest in or experience with non-standard electronics testing, breadboard construction, simulator modifications, engineering test data processing, and complex preventive maintenance procedures. - You should bring strong problem-solving ability. - You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. - You should have strong collaboration and team-building skills. - Preferred qualifications include industry experience. - Preferred qualifications include an electro-mechanical engineering background. - Preferred qualifications include experience with image generator technologies. - Preferred qualifications include knowledge of Common Image Generator Interface (CIGI). - Preferred qualifications include experience supporting video switching hardware. - Preferred qualifications include familiarity with process improvement methods. - Preferred qualifications include knowledge of embedded real-time system operations and configurations. - Preferred qualifications include Windows system administration experience. - Preferred qualifications include experience with electronics, avionics, mechanics, hydraulic systems, or electronic fabrication.

Responsibilities:

- We design, implement, modify, operate, and maintain fixed-base and motion-base simulators as well as related support equipment. - We oversee readiness procedures, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance for simulator systems. - We direct simulator hardware reconfiguration and modification efforts. - We diagnose, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair electromechanical, video, audio, and network systems using maintenance documentation and wiring diagrams. - We work with technicians and use advanced electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, fiber optic testers, temperature probes, computer-based troubleshooting tools, power meters, and CAT5/CAT6 cabling testers. - We troubleshoot and replace complex electronic components, including analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog modules, VMEbus data acquisition systems, and fiber optic systems. - We troubleshoot and update Linux- and Windows-based operating systems during simulation computer and network replacements or reconfigurations. - We develop lighting designs and panel layouts. - We integrate hardware-in-the-loop real-time simulation components and systems. - We apply engineering methods to the design, development, integration, qualification, and support of simulator systems. - We communicate hardware, software, and simulator subsystem issues to management. - We maintain records of maintenance and operational activities and prepare reports. - We support operations, maintenance, and training during weekends and off-shift hours when needed. - We prepare documentation and contribute input for additional technical documentation. - We develop quality components and verify performance, reliability, and functionality through analysis and troubleshooting.

We are Metis Technology Solutions, Inc., supporting NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia through our Simulation and Aircraft Services task order under the ARTS contract. We provide full life cycle flight simulation software and hardware services, along with flight simulation infrastructure engineering for ground-based and flight research systems and facilities. Our Flight Simulation Facilities include real-time computer systems, a six-degree-of-freedom motion base, four full-sized simulator cockpits, a multi-purpose reconfigurable test and evaluation simulator, as well as systems integration and laboratories. We offer a hands-on engineering environment focused on simulator infrastructure, operations, maintenance, and continued system improvement, with weekend and off-shift support required when necessary.
