Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

Erdman Anthony is seeking a **Mechanical Engineer** to work with architects and building owners under the guidance of a Professional Engineer to translate owner needs into a building design that is buildable, cost-effective, and sustainable.

**Responsibilities:**

* Calculate heating and cooling loads using Carrier HAP software to size equipment
* Estimate energy use and savings using EQuest and other simulation programs
* Lay out ductwork, piping and equipment using AutoCAD software
* Model building HVAC and plumbing systems using Autodesk Revit software
* Survey buildings: take photos, measurements, assess equipment
* Calculate pipe sizes for refrigeration systems using Excel and other tools
* Answer construction questions relevant to your designs
* Meet with utilities to work out building connections
* Perform energy code compliance calculations
* Model buildings for LEED Energy credits

**Requirements:**

| * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from EAC/ABET certified school * Experience in HVAC or Plumbing design * Engineer in Training certification preferred, PE a plus * Excellent written and verbal communication * Ability to work well in a team environment |
