Become a part of something truly unique Belmark is seeking a Packaging Application Engineer for our Folding Carton division Here you will become part of a family that is dedicated to its customers and their successes while working in a fast paced collaborative environment Summary Supports the sales process through the identification of a product or design to fit a customer need in a fast and friendly manner Assist customers with the selection of products that meet their specific needs modification of products to meet specific customer applications and training customers in the use of products Work may also include intervention when customers or manufacturing needs assistance with product reliability Any travel to customers facilities is for the sole purpose of landing new accounts and ensuring the next purchase order is placed with existing accounts What will I do in this role Lead Sales team and customers in defining end use requirementsEstablish the size shape design and tooling specifications for new opportunities To include identifying material finish carton structure and die specificationsPerform competitive analyses of customer supplied samples to recommend best material and finish options that meet customer requirementsCreate revise and manage materialconverting specifications and test methodsProcess and manage the daily project flow with accuracy speed and serviceWork with suppliers to testtrial new materials to validate in both internal and customer processesSupport standardization of materials and processes to service our customersSupport quality improvement efforts and CAPA resolutionWork with Production Quality Sales customers and vendors to provide root cause and corrective action on high risk complaints to ensure future sales growthSupport production in problem solving manufacturing issues with materials or equipmentProvide technical support within the sales process which may require occasional overnight travel with or without other company representativesManage the risk and liability of business decisions that ensure reasonable precautions prevent large lossesMaintain a strong awareness of the effect of how material and process selections can impact efficiencies waste and ultimately costActively engage in identifying process improvement opportunities and facilitating their completionAssist in developing departmental procedures challenge existing procedures for improvement and implement changesReduce opt outs within the EDGE tool to drive standard solutions and speedMay perform other duties as assigned by managerGreat benefits for the entire family Health Dental plan with Wellness discountFREE On site Health ClinicFlexible Spending AccountLife Insurance401k and Profit Sharing Plan with 6 matchPaid vacation AND personal timePaid holidays beginning day oneEmployee Assistance ProgramFREE On site Fitness CenterMinimum Qualifications Demonstrate high thruput accuracy speed and service with all projectsApply engineering principles and concepts to identify solutions from both formal training and experienceKnowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English languageRegular attendance is an essential function of the positionMust have the ability to quickly learn and apply new information regarding materials and manufacturing processesMust be able to analyze data and recommend a course of actionMust be able to simultaneously manage numerous tasks and projectsRequires constant and critical attention to detailAbility to establish and meet tight time linesAbility to operate a computer with proficiency in word processing software Microsoft Word presentation software Powerpoint and spreadsheet software ExcelAbility to read comprehend and follow implicit and explicit written and oral instructionsMust have excellent interpersonal skillsMust be able to communicate and answer questions both written and orally in a professional and friendly mannerMust have the ability to clearly explain a complex technical concept in laymans termsRequires education as is generally acquired in four 4 years of college with a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or technology field and generally three 3 years of Packaging Application Engineer I experience with proven successAbility to talk and hear 90 of work timeStanding and walking required for 25 of work timeAbility to lift up to 25 pounds for 20 of work timeAbility to see clearly at 20 inches or 20 feet or more;
