Andgar Food Processing Equipment FPE has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer in Ferndale WA This division works with a variety of metal products for food processing equipment manufacturing Most of the final product is food grade stainless steel and aluminum The Design Engineer is responsible for assisting in design and development of food processing equipment using computer aided design to render technical plans for onsite fabrication FPE culture prizes honesty integrity humility and teamwork Success to us is more than just dollars and cents its about the pride of standing behind the equipment we build and the people who build it Pay Incentives and Benefits Salary Range 32 42hrMedical Dental Vision Disability \& Life Insurance401k retirement plan with company matchAccrued Paid Time Off PTO6 Paid holidaysEmployee Referral Bonuses \& Safety ProgramOngoing training and education with Andgar UniversityEmployee Assistance Program and Counselor on staff Specific duties include Collaborate with design and technical supervisor and customers to gather product and structural requirements and designsResearch and evaluate products parts or processes for cost efficiency and reliabilityContribute to the designs of new products and improvements to existing products; contribute to moderately complex aspects of a projectTransform complex rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design CADReview engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standardsAnalyze test results and recommend appropriate design changesDesign diagrams maps and layouts to illustrate workflowUse designs to develop specifications or estimates of materials needed for a projectPrepare creative designs or related drawings or detailsCollaborate with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designsTransform initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design CADEnsure final designs comply with regulations and quality standardsIdentify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionalityPrepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the manufacturing teamDesign diagrams maps and layouts to illustrate workflowCreate detailed designs with SolidWorks design softwareDescribe production methods step by step including equipment and software types to be usedCalculate dimensions weight limitations and requirements in materials Employee Requirements One 1 year of experience or certificate in Welding from accredited trade school or collegeTIG welding experience strongly preferredValid Driver License and clean driving recordDrug and alcohol free must be able to pass pre employment drug testStrong communication and math skillsAble to operate tools machinery and vehicles safelyMust be able to lift 75 lbsMust be flexible with hours and able to work overtime as neededSelf starter with ability to work with little supervision FPE Drug Free Workplace Andgar desires to provide a drug free healthful and safe workplace This is a safety sensitive position for which impairment while working presents a substantial risk of death therefore a successful applicant will be subject to pre employment drug testing including cannabis in accordance with RCW 4944240 Andgar is an equal opportunity employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex sexual orientation gender identity national origin disability or veteran status Andgar is a proud member of YesVets
