Structural (Bridge) Engineer

ATCS is looking for a qualified Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Structural Engineering practice This role will report out of our Herndon VA HQ where we offer a flex hybrid environment This role will include performing simple and complex analysis design and documentation of various transportation structures with emphasis on single and multi span bridges culverts retaining walls foundations sign structures and ITS structures This position will work closely with our Director of Structural Engineering to help expand this discipline companywide This position will function as a technical leader will coordinate overall design activities project submission schedules and will be responsible for additional Quality Assurance and Quality Control duties to help ensure the final products meet the technical requirements and goals of our clients Essential Functions \& Responsibilities Performs and checks design calculations prepares technical specifications prepares cost estimates and other construction documents and successfully delivers projects to completionConduct assessments and evaluations of existing structuresDevelop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget and scheduleIssue reports schedules estimates of probable costsAssist with responses to SOIs RFPs and other pursuitsAssist with developing budgets and scopes of workPerform peer reviews and expert reportingEssential Qualifications Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringValid Professional Engineering Licensure PE in VirginiaMinimum of 8 years of project engineering experienceWell versed in VDOT standards procedures and specificationsExtensive experience with layout \& design of bridges and related highway structuresFamiliarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and other highway structuresDesired Qualifications Valid multi State Professional Engineering Licensure PE in VA Licenses in surrounding states such as MD PA NC SC andor NY is a plusFamiliarity with design and analysis using various materials including steel precast and cast in place concrete; prestressed and post tensioned concrete and timberEssential Knowledge Skills \& Abilities Possesses knowledge of VDOT design softwarePossesses knowledgeunderstanding of finite element and 2D3D modeling programsAbility to work independently and as part of a project teamAbility to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutionsComfortable performing in an environment that requires independent evaluation judgment and decision makingProficient with Microstation and OpenRoadsOur employees are the most critical part of ATCS For this position we offer a competitive salary range of 88000 to 132000 per year commensurate with experience and qualifications The role is also eligible for an annual bonus with a target 2 of the employees annualized salary In addition to compensation ATCS offers outstanding employee focused benefits for you and your family Full time employees are eligible for benefits coverage on the first day of the month following their start date Including but not limited to generous personal PTO inclusive holiday PTO community involvement PTO highly customizable medical plan options excellent dental \& vision plans 401K match up to 3 with immediate vesting parental leave STD \& LTD tuition reimbursement employee assistance program and more ATCS is an equal opportunity employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex disability age sexual orientation gender identity national origin veteran status or genetic information ATCS is committed to providing equal opportunities and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment its services programs and activities To request reasonable accommodation contact Caitlin Crockett MBA SPHR at ccrockettatcscom
