Abonmarche is a team of professionals who are passionate about helping others with client service at the core of everything we do We are a practice of people who are passionate about engineering architecture surveying planning landscape architecture and more Our teams are collaborative agile innovative and focused on creating the best client experience available The communities and clients we serve know that by working with us theyre collaborating with a firm that helps foster opportunity Working at Abonmarche means youll have the opportunity to grow learn and share your expertise with others Supported by a mentorship based culture our teams are empowered to develop their skillsets and lead transformative work in the communities all across our service areas A strong emphasis on community and family means youll have the chance to engage with your community in your work here at Abonmarche through our volunteer and philanthropic programs and within a culture of supportive work life balance Abonmarche is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in our Kalamazoo MI office Roles \& Responsibilities The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for leading and managing engineering projects from concept to completion including design as well as delegating and supervising the work of other engineers The Senior Civil Engineer is the technical leader for a project in our company Directs and manages the project design team as well as coordinates schedules with the project managers and supervisors to ensure that deadlines are metAssists in the preparation of proposals or project scope including feasibility cost estimatesReviews project work at appropriate milestones and follows quality control planCoordinates and establishes relationships with permitting agenciesDirects and reviews permit applications specifications bid documents cost estimates and report writingCoordinates with Geotech or other technical subs and communicates with contractor as neededDetermines team roles for construction administration and performs spot field checks during constructionCoordinates continuing education opportunities for technical staffMentors and trains junior staffQualifications \& Skills Bachelors Degree in Civil EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer PE in Michigan5 years of experience in civil engineeringExperience in a project engineer role for any of the following types of projects is preferred municipal roadway design sanitary sewers water mains storm sewers trails traffic signals site design for residential commercial educational and industrial projectsSelf motivated and able to work independently or with a teamGood verbal and written skillsKnowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Suite programsEqual Opportunity EmployerVeteransDisabled Job Type Full time
