Virtual Desktop Infrastructure VDI Engineer Secret Clearance Huntsville AL At Technical Consulting Solutions TCS Inc our team of professionals tackles many of our countrys most difficult engineering and technology challenges to further our countrys defense and space programs At TCS we strive to provide our people with a strong interesting career along with strong benefits and work life balance This position supports the Missile Defense Agency MDA in Huntsville AL These positions require US citizenship an existing DoD clearance Secret or higher and on site work at a facility in Huntsville Alabama telework is not available Job Description The selected candidate will perform job duties as a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Virtualization Solutions They will be responsible for installing configuring managing and maintaining virtualized systems to ensure data integrity availability and security Supported systems are in multiple lab environments operating in support of the IBCS Product Line in Huntsville Alabama Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following Support day to day lab efforts ensuring that all technologies are operationalProvide expert level solutions for virtualized environments andor Red Hat Enterprise LinuxConduct administration tasks as required including patching updates hardening remediation and management of virtualization environmentWork with Product Teams in support of secure operating systems applications networks hardware databases etcWork on multiple simultaneous tasksMentor and provide guidance to junior systems administratorsBasic Qualifications Current DoD Secret Security ClearanceCurrent DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification ie Security etcAssociate degree and 11 years of experience or bachelors degree and 9 years of experience or masters degree and 7 years of experience; an additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degreeManage and support various components of the technical infrastructure including Hypervisors storage infrastructure solutions system updating patching and hardeningSTIGsIn depth knowledge of Omnissa Horizon VDI solutionsExperience building and administrating VMware vSphere 7x or higher in a large environmentHands on experience with virtual machine environment management toolsKnowledge and understanding of Linux KVM Virtualization technologies OpenShiftExcellent problem solving troubleshooting analytical and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications Broad knowledge of systems administration in technologies such as networking storage performance tuning and general administration of Windows and LinuxKnowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments Kubernetes RancherExperience with Kasm WorkspacesIn depth understanding of Linux systems in a Windows Domain environmentExperience with Windows Domain architectures including but not limited to Active Directory GPOs ACLs etcPrevious administration of Atlassian Tools ie Jira Confluence Bitbucket Bamboo Fisheye Crucible etcHands on experience with virtual machine environment management tools IaCExperience with automation tools such as AnsibleScripting using Bash PowerCLI PowerShellStrong familiarity with SAN storage systems ie NetAppAdditional Operating System Environment Certification ie Linux RHCSA Net CCNA VMware Certified etcThe application period for the job is estimated to be 60 days from the job posting date However this timeline may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates If this position sounds interesting to you and you meet the requirements listed; then we would love to discuss this position with you It is our hope that we can find a position that would match your career goals and would provide a good interesting career for you TCS offers a strong complement of benefits leave 401k etc Apply online or visit us at wwwtcs inccomcareers TCS is an EEO Employer
