### Must have:

### - We require a bachelors degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant work experience. - We look for at least 2 years of experience in GIS, including work with Esri, ArcGIS Pro, or MapInfo, preferably in the utility sector. - We require at least 2 years of experience in fiber design and outside plant engineering. - We require at least 2 years of experience using FMS/GIS platforms; experience with Vetro or IQGeo is a plus. - We require at least 1 year of experience in project or program management. - We value knowledge of fiber optic construction and installation methods. - We expect the ability to read and interpret maps, as-builts, and field notes in formats such as PDF, SHP, and KMZ. - We look for experience with Google and Microsoft Office tools. - We value strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced setting. - We expect excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail. - We require strong verbal and written communication skills. - We value a problem-solving mindset, especially for complex fiber design challenges. - We prefer candidates who enjoy team collaboration and dynamic work environments. - Being based in California is a plus.

Responsibilities:

- We develop splice plans to launch splicing orders and improve network efficiency. - We create fiber network schematics for field implementation, including installs, routing, and fiber span design. - We support capacity planning tied to fiber availability. - We receive and review FMS/GIS data for completeness and accuracy. - We ingest and export map files and data points for FMS/GIS databases, including external systems such as 811. - We analyze, organize, maintain, and quality-check network elements in fiber inventory systems to keep databases aligned with field and customer data. - We review sales engineering designs to determine fiber routing for new orders. - We coordinate and implement projects across multiple regions and stakeholder groups. - We assist with project trackers for build partners and timeline management. - We support project meetings with customers, stakeholders, and build partners.

We are Golden State Net, and we are building a robust fiber network from the ground up to bring broadband infrastructure to unserved and underserved communities. This is a full-time, remote opportunity on our GSN team, reporting to the Manager of Fiber \& GIS. You will work closely with our Fiber Engineering manager and Operations team in a collaborative environment focused on meaningful, complex work. The role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST, with evening or weekend work possible based on business needs and expectations to align with PST if located in another time zone. We offer a salary range of $84,000 to $95,500 per year, along with dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan.
