Responsibilities:

- We provide systems engineering and technical assistance support for U.S. Coast Guard robotics and autonomous systems acquisition programs. - We offer technical oversight across requirements management, systems integration, interoperability, test and evaluation, configuration management, and technical risk assessment throughout the systems engineering and acquisition lifecycles. - We advise on engineering design, development, testing, and integration of RAS solutions in line with USCG lifecycle standards. - We review engineering documentation such as system specifications, design packages, test plans, and integration plans for compliance with USCG requirements. - We help define and implement technical performance metrics and measures of effectiveness for CG-RAS systems. - We identify, assess, and reduce technical risks using USCG risk management practices. - We contribute subject matter guidance in robotics, autonomy, sensors, communications, power systems, and software engineering. - We support test and evaluation planning and execution for RAS platforms in accordance with USCG policies. - We assess contractor technical proposals and make recommendations to the government. - We visit contractor sites and USCG operational locations to evaluate technical readiness and highlight improvement opportunities. - We prepare technical reports, briefings, and presentations for USCG stakeholders. - We review proposed design changes and ensure alignment with engineering change control processes. - We evaluate interoperability and integration concerns with other USCG systems, including C4ISR platforms, cutters, and aircraft. - We support configuration management activities and follow USCG CM policies and procedures. - We assist the program manager with GFE procurement schedules, cross-domain tracking, and foundational program documentation. - We maintain technical accuracy, configuration discipline, and consistent style across engineering documents and leadership briefs. - We surface program bottlenecks, technical obstacles, and safety risks, and help ensure mitigations are funded and tracked. - We translate system specifications into practical training curricula for Coast Guard operators. - We coordinate engineering capabilities across Coast Guard offices and conduct cross-functional market research. - We draft programmatic documents for the standup of the PEO, maintain Gantt charts for GFE procurement, and produce weekly progress reports. - We work with stakeholders to develop Mission Needs Statements, Concepts of Operations, initial requirements, evaluation criteria, test plans, and test reports. - We create technical curriculum and training materials for field operators to support safe and effective use of RAS platforms.

Arete Consulting is hiring a Systems Engineer to support U.S. Coast Guard Robotics and Autonomous Systems acquisition efforts. This is an in-person role focused on technical oversight, systems engineering, acquisition support, and training development for fielded RAS platforms. The compensation range is $90,000 to $120,000 per year, and our benefits package includes 401(k), 401(k) matching, dental, health, life, and vision insurance, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
