### Must have:
### - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a closely related discipline - 3-7+ years of experience in controls or automation engineering within a manufacturing setting - Experience with thermal regulation systems, motors, and industrial sensors preferred - PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms - Experience developing and troubleshooting HMIs - Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP and Modbus - Ability to interpret and produce electrical schematics and panel layouts - Familiarity with safety standards and machine control practices - Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities - Effective communication skills across engineering, operations, and maintenance teams - Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities - Hands-on, practical, solution-focused approach
Responsibilities:

- Design, program, and support PLC, HMI, and control systems for manufacturing equipment and smoker products - Develop control logic for temperature management, airflow, combustion, and safety interlocks - Produce and maintain electrical schematics, I/O lists, and control-related documentation - Deliver hands-on troubleshooting support for production line control systems - Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues affecting throughput and quality - Assist with commissioning and startup of new equipment and production lines - Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams during new product introduction (NPI) - Support the integration of sensors, motors, actuators, and communication protocols - Help develop and test embedded control systems for smoker products - Support functional testing, validation, and verification of control systems - Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards - Implement safe machine control measures, including emergency stops and fault detection - Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and overall system performance - Support engineering change orders (ECOs) related to controls and electrical systems - Maintain accurate documentation, software version control, and backups - Work with maintenance, IT, and operations teams to support automation infrastructure - Coordinate with vendors and integrators for equipment and control system support - Provide training and guidance to technicians and operators as needed
