**About the Company**
HireIQ Solutions is leading the search for a Manufacturing Engineer at a US manufacturer of engineered-to-order HVAC and thermal management systems serving mission-critical and commercial/industrial environments. The company designs and manufactures highly customized equipment and continues to invest in manufacturing capability, process improvement, and operational excellence across its production network.
**About the Role**
This role is designed for a Manufacturing Engineer who can balance hands-on production support with process improvement, cross-functional project work, and future-state ERP readiness. The position will join a growing Manufacturing Engineering team in Redmond and play a key role in both day-to-day manufacturing support and SAP preparation. A major focus of the role will be helping the site prepare for SAP rollout by supporting the setup and refinement of manufacturing master data, including bills of material, routings, work centers, and production standards. At the same time, this person will also be expected to contribute broadly across manufacturing engineering projects, including production support, process optimization, and capital projects. The right candidate will bring prior SAP experience from a manufacturing environment and be capable of helping guide the site's approach as implementation draws nearer. Early on, this role will spend significant time on the production floor learning current processes, materials, and workflows. As SAP implementation approaches, the balance of the role is expected to shift more heavily toward office-based systems work, documentation, and cross-functional planning.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Lead the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and production workflows to improve efficiency and safety.
• Analyze production data and process performance to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with product design, quality, and operations teams to ensure manufacturability and alignment with production capabilities.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
• Support the introduction of new products and technologies into manufacturing by coordinating trials, validations, and training.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools, equipment, and technologies to enhance production capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members across manufacturing engineering initiatives.
• Participate in cross-functional projects focused on Lean manufacturing, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all engineering activities.
• Serve as a key SAP resource for the Redmond site, helping establish and refine BOMs, routings, cost structures, and related manufacturing data.
• Support CapEx and project-based work as needed in addition to SAP-related responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role.
• Prior SAP experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred and highly valuable for success in this role.
• Experience with manufacturing master data such as bills of material, routings, work centers, and production standards is strongly preferred.
• HVAC industry experience is preferred, but not required.
• Candidates from automotive, aerospace, consumer products, or other manufacturing sectors with relevant SAP experience are also of interest.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Effective communication and project leadership abilities.
• Experience with process improvement tools and methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean and continuous improvement exposure is a strong bonus.
• Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the broader team.
**Team \& Reporting Structure**
• Reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
• Joins a Manufacturing Engineering team currently made up of 3 engineers and 4 technicians.
• Will be the fourth Manufacturing Engineer on the team.
• Team members have individual focus areas, but collaborate broadly across projects, CapEx work, production support, and process improvement.
• This role is expected to bring particular strength in SAP and help serve as a subject matter resource for the site as implementation progresses.
Work Environment \& Physical Requirements
• Work is performed in a combination of office and factory settings.
• Role requires a mix of production-floor engagement and office-based systems/process work.
• Early in the role, a significant portion of time will be spent in production learning current-state operations; over time, the role is expected to shift more heavily toward office-based SAP and process configuration work.
• Exposure to loud noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
• Use of personal protective equipment is required when on the production floor.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken form.
• Strong decision-making and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit or stand for up to 95% of work hours.
• This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role and is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.
• Compliance with all company safety and operational policies is mandatory.
**Why Join**
This is an opportunity to join a growing manufacturing engineering team at a pivotal point in the site's evolution. The right person will have the chance to contribute both to current-state production improvement and to a major future-state systems implementation. For someone with strong SAP knowledge, manufacturing credibility, and a hands-on mindset, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact while building long-term growth potential within a high-performing engineering organization.
