**Principal Systems Engineer (Long-Range Radar / FAA Surveillance Systems)**

**Position Overview**
Cornerstone Signals \& Cyber Technologies is seeking an experienced **Principal Systems Engineer** to provide engineering support for the Federal Aviation Administration's long-range surveillance radar modernization efforts supporting the ARSR-4 radar system and the Brand-New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) Program.
This position will serve as the senior technical advisor responsible for evaluating current and future National Airspace System (NAS) surveillance capabilities, identifying technical risks, supporting engineering analyses, and ensuring successful integration of new surveillance technologies while maintaining operational long-range radar systems.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience supporting FAA or Department of Defense radar systems, systems engineering, RF engineering, surveillance architectures, and complex technical integration efforts.
**Essential Responsibilities**
* Serve as the senior systems engineering subject matter expert supporting long-range surveillance radar modernization.
* Monitor technical performance measures and system performance metrics.
* Assess RF impacts to current and future surveillance infrastructure.
* Analyze hardware and software designs, interfaces, maintenance concepts, and lifecycle engineering.
* Evaluate engineering alternatives and recommend technical solutions supporting cost, schedule, and operational objectives.
* Support the integration of primary radar, secondary surveillance, weather, automation, and National Airspace System components.
* Participate in engineering design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and integrated product teams.
* Review engineering documentation for compliance with system requirements, engineering standards, and program objectives.
* Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Perform systems engineering studies, modeling, performance analyses, and architecture evaluations.
* Evaluate proposed modifications to existing surveillance systems and future replacement technologies.
* Develop engineering reports, technical recommendations, and executive briefings supporting Government decision-making.
* Coordinate engineering activities with Government personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.
**Required Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
* Minimum 15 years of systems engineering experience supporting complex radar, surveillance, aerospace, or defense programs.
* Demonstrated experience supporting long-range surveillance radar systems.
* Strong knowledge of National Airspace System (NAS) surveillance architecture.
* Experience with systems integration, interface management, and engineering lifecycle processes.
* Experience conducting technical analyses involving RF systems, radar operations, and surveillance technologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to travel as required.
