### - We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or another related technical field. - We require at least 10 years of experience in systems engineering or a closely related discipline supporting complex government, DoD, aerospace, or space programs. - We require experience analyzing system requirements, shaping system architectures, and supporting integration activities. - We require proficiency with collaboration and project tools such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence. - We require strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities. - We require the ability to work independently as well as in multidisciplinary engineering teams. - We require excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief government and program leadership on technical topics. - We require an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance. - We prefer professional certifications such as INCOSE CSEP, PMP, or an equivalent credential. - We prefer experience supporting Space Systems Command, the U.S. Space Force, the Department of Defense, or other national security space programs. - We prefer knowledge of SATCOM systems, ground systems, SATCOM terminals, or cryptologic solutions. - We prefer experience across the systems engineering lifecycle for space, aerospace, or defense programs. - We prefer a background in cybersecurity principles, secure system design, and Risk Management Framework practices. - We prefer experience in Agile software development or DevOps environments. - We prefer familiarity with systems integration, verification and validation, and engineering lifecycle processes. - We value a strong systems engineering foundation and the ability to break down complex technical challenges into practical solutions. - We value experience supporting satellite communications systems and next-generation space capabilities. - We value knowledge of system architecture, networking, secure infrastructure design, and systems integration. - We value the ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams while balancing competing priorities. - We value strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills. - We value exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with government customers and technical stakeholders. - We value demonstrated mentoring ability and a collaborative leadership style. - We value self-motivation, technical excellence, innovation, and a commitment to mission success.

Responsibilities:

- We serve as the primary engineering point of contact with government customers on systems engineering matters, risks, issues, and resolutions. - We analyze user needs, operational concepts, system requirements, and high-level architectures to develop effective engineering approaches. - We support the design, development, integration, and deployment of complex systems for space and defense missions. - We collaborate with software development, cybersecurity, operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver integrated mission solutions. - We lead technical efforts from concept through implementation while maintaining quality, schedule, and technical performance targets. - We assess system performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend changes that increase reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness. - We create and maintain engineering documentation, including architectures, configuration records, technical procedures, and engineering plans. - We participate in technical reviews, engineering working groups, and system design discussions. - We ensure our solutions align with government requirements, industry standards, cybersecurity policies, and internal best practices. - We evaluate emerging technologies and provide technical recommendations that enhance system capability. - We mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Defense Technical Recruiting is recruiting on behalf of Exigo Corp for a Senior Systems Engineer to support critical national security space programs for the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command in El Segundo, California. We work on next-generation space capabilities and collaborate closely with government stakeholders, program leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, mission-focused solutions.
