Engineer Your Future with Us VoltAir is an award winning consulting engineering firm with a passion some call it an obsession for quality engineering Our friendly and relaxed culture allows you to dig into incredible projects alongside talented colleagues while making career building impacts in your local and national communities We attract and reward skilled individuals who share a passion for engineering design or design build electrical contracting Our modern spacious headquarters are in sunny Tampa Bay with seven additional offices around the country Position Overview The Electrical Engineer I will apply their professional and technical expertise to designing electrical engineering concepts and options that align with the owners vision for each project This individual should have a solid understanding of the consulting engineering process and the contractual documents which are involved Responsibilities Determine the scope of assigned projects and utilize software programs to create the electrical system designs including lighting power distribution emergency generation systems fire alarm security or other electrical systemsDetermine cost effective system layouts quantitiessizes and specifications and verify code compliance of the system designsPreparation and layout of BIM drawings and coordination with all other disciplines at all phases of project production including schematic design phase design development phase permitting phase and construction documents phasePerform construction administration tasks including but not limited to site observations shop drawing review and preparation of punch listsDefine appropriate project scope and ensure it is accurately reflected in the contract documents Proactively manage any possible scope of work variances to ensure client satisfaction and that projects stay on trackMaintain excellent business relationships and communication with clients partners architects owners other design and construction professionals and various code officials regarding the overall engineering project associated assignments and action items Support with mentoring more inexperienced electrical designers Miscellaneous duties as assignedQualifications Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and based in Orlando FloridaBachelors Degree in Electrical EngineeringAt least 3 years of experience in electrical engineering design of commercial buildings preferably in aviation higher education healthcare hospitality entertainment or governmental facilitiesLicensed Professional Engineer PE or Engineer in Training EIT preferredAt least 1 year of experience coordinating with multi discipline engineering teams Experience with a variety of project deliverable methods including design build design bid construct fast track and other construction delivery methodsKnowledge of local state and national codes including other aspects of laws regulations and potential liabilities affecting the practice of engineeringRevit MEP proficiency required and familiarity with other engineering software programsHighly proficient technicalcomputer skills including Microsoft O365 Outlook Work Excel internet and web applicationsExcellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to clearly convey information ideas and concepts verbally written or in graphic formAbility to prepare original specifications for project systems and components as well as complete project manuals with sub consultant specifications when the company serves as the prime professionalMust have the technical knowledge and hands on experience to effectively evaluate various electrical engineering options for configuration of equipment and componentsExperienced with cost containment and reduction approachesSkills \& Competencies Meets deadlines works independently or as part of a team accountable maintains focus on set objectives and goalsExcellent attention to detail and thoroughness in deliverables and communications maintains high quality standards and good follow up skillsEthical honest and accountable;
