If youre passionate about this we want to hear from you About the Role MWH is currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to support a critical wastewater treatment plant project in Gresham Oregon Essential Functions RFIs and Submittals 60 Using analytical skills review requests for information from subcontractors for clarity and confirm information that cannot be discerned from the contract documents Shepherd through the Engineer of Record response process and post RFIs to the As Built contract documentsUse engineering skills to analyze subcontractor and manufacturers submittals against contract documents including exercising discretion to determine if a proffered substitution is sufficiently comparable to recommend for approvalManage the submittal process including reviewing and approving shop drawings using engineering judgment to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standardsConduct thorough technical reviews of submittals identifying deviations from project requirements and coordinating with relevant parties to address and resolve issues Project Coordination Communication and Problem Solving 30 Provide support to the Trade Package Project Managers and Site SuperintendentsShop Drawing Management Use technical and analytical skills to review shop drawings for general compliance with contract documents and coordination with relevant equipment Shepherd through the Engineer of Record review and approval processChange Management In coordination with PMs and Superintendents use analyze proposed change orders against the contract documents and use engineering judgment to assess the validity of the proposed cost estimates for the work Assist in the management of Time and Materials tickets where required on executed change orders and force account workScheduling Link shop drawings to construction schedule activities to ensure timely completion and support PMs in weekly progress updates with the trade contractors and program schedule team in submittal statusIssues Management Attend routine meetings and track critical issues requiring resolution to maintain construction progress Drive issues to conclusion through active communications with responsible partiesQuality Responsible for understanding quality requirements of assigned trade packages and coordinate with trade contractors and Program Quality team to ensure that quality activities are planned executed and documented according to contract requirementsSafety Responsible for the safe conduct of MWH personnel to ensure a zero accident project Ensure all site personnel meet minimum safety requirements eg training orientations tools and equipmentWork in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policiesDocumentation and Record Keeping 10 Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of all RFIs submittals and related correspondenceBasic Qualifications BS degree in engineering required2 years of experience in project engineering or field engineeringPrior pipeline project experienceFamiliarity with reading contract drawings and specifications and basic
