Join our **Data Centers** group and play a key role in developing SolarEdge's next generation of innovative, high-performance products. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing electronic packaging solutions from concept to production while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective products.
What will you be doing?
* Design mechanical solutions for electronic products, from concept through mass production.
* Perform PCB mechanical design in close collaboration with Electrical Engineers.
* Design mechanical parts using plastic injection molding, die casting, sheet metal, and extrusion technologies.
* Prepare production documentation, including mechanical drawings, PCB mechanical drawings, and manufacturing files.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve performance, quality, reliability, schedule, and cost targets.
* Review and approve manufacturing tools, molds, and production specifications.
* Support product validation, first article inspections (FAI), troubleshooting, and design improvements.
* Provide ongoing engineering support throughout the product lifecycle and manufacturing process.
* B.Sc. or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
* 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design.
* At least 2--3 years of experience in electronic packaging design, including compliance with safety and environmental requirements.
* Experience designing products for manufacturing using plastic injection molding, die casting, sheet metal, and metal forming processes.
* Experience with PCB mechanical design.
* Experience preparing mechanical drawings and production documentation.
* Experience supporting product validation, first article inspections (FAI), and troubleshooting.
* Experience providing engineering support for manufacturing and production.
Advantages
* Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is an advantage).
* Experience working with PDM/PLM and ERP systems.
* Experience performing thermal and structural (strength) analysis.
* Experience with data center products, power electronics, or high-power systems.
