**SENIOR DATA ENGINEER (Snowflake \| Power BI \| PostgreSQL) 5357**

**6+ Month Contract w/ 6 month renewable increments**

Tier4 Group is seeking a **Senior Data Engineer** to help modernize and scale a cloud-based enterprise data platform. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys building high-performance data pipelines, developing analytics solutions, and driving cloud data warehouse initiatives.

You will play a key role in designing and implementing enterprise data solutions using **Snowflake, Power BI, PostgreSQL, and advanced SQL** while partnering with business and technical stakeholders across multiple functional areas.

**Data Engineering \& Cloud Data Platforms**

* Design, develop, and support scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
* Build and optimize Snowflake data warehouse solutions
* Develop data ingestion processes using Snowpipe, stages, and automated workflows
* Create dimensional data models and transformation frameworks
* Implement data quality, monitoring, and governance controls
* Support migration of legacy systems into modern cloud-based architectures

**Analytics \& Reporting**

* Design and develop Power BI semantic models and datasets
* Create executive dashboards and self-service reporting solutions
* Optimize DAX calculations, data models, and report performance
* Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and deployment pipelines
* Modernize legacy reporting platforms into Power BI

**Database Development \& Performance Tuning**

* Write and optimize complex SQL across Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Oracle environments
* Develop PostgreSQL database objects including functions, triggers, and materialized views
* Perform query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization
* Design enterprise data warehouse schemas and metadata structures

**Collaboration \& Integration**

* Integrate data across multiple enterprise business systems
* Support API and platform integrations
* Partner with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions
* Participate in Agile development processes and technical planning

**Required Qualifications**

**Technical Skills**

* Expert-level SQL development and optimization
* Strong PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL experience
* Snowflake architecture, development, and performance tuning
* Power BI development, data modeling, and DAX
* ETL/ELT pipeline development
* Data warehouse design and dimensional modeling
* Git/GitLab version control

**Experience**

* **5+ years** Data Engineering experience
* **3+ years** Snowflake experience in production environments
* **3+ years** Power BI development experience
* **3+ years** ETL/ELT development experience
* **3+ years** Data Warehouse design experience
* **2+ years** PostgreSQL experience

**Preferred Skills**

* Oracle SQL / PL/SQL
* dbt
* Data Vault modeling
* REST API integrations
* SnowPro Certification
* Microsoft PL-300 or DP-203 Certification
* Experience supporting federal, aerospace, defense, or highly regulated environments
