ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE Firefly Aerospace is a space and defense technology company on a mission to reliably and repeatedly launch land and operate space systems from Earth to the Moon and beyond As the partner of choice for critical space missions Firefly is the first commercial company to launch a satellite to orbit with 24 hour notice and the first company to achieve a successful Moon landing Headquartered in north Austin Texas Firefly is looking for passionate hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space DevOps Engineer II Firefly Aerospace is seeking a DevOps Engineer II to join our growing infrastructure team In this role you will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining robust DevOps solutions that support our mission to make space accessible Youll work closely with IT teams software engineering and system engineering teams to automate deployment pipelines optimize infrastructure and ensure system reliability across our technology stack Key Responsibilities Solution Development Design and implement infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform to provision and manage cloud and on premises resourcesDevelop and maintain CICD pipelines using Jenkins to automate build test and deployment processesCreate automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual interventionContribute to designing scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions that support mission critical aerospace applicationsImplement monitoring and observability solutions to ensure system health and performanceTroubleshooting \& Support Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues across Linux based systemsProvide technical support for development teams including troubleshooting build failures and deployment issuesPerform root cause analysis on system failures and implement preventive measuresRespond to and resolve incidents in a timely manner including participation in on call rotationOptimize system performance through proactive monitoring and tuningSystem Administration Administer and maintain Linux servers RHEL Ubuntu CentOS in development staging and production environmentsManage version control systems and implement Git workflows and branching strategiesEnsure security best practices are implemented across all infrastructure componentsMaintain documentation for systems processes and proceduresCollaborate with security teams to implement compliance and security controlsRequired Skills Strong proficiency in Linux system administration RHEL Ubuntu or CentOS including shell scripting Bash PythonTerraform Demonstrated experience using and maintaining Terraform modules and managing infrastructure as codeJenkins Hands on experience designing and managing Jenkins pipelines including pipeline as codeGit Demonstrated knowledge of Git version control including branching strategies merge conflict resolution and repository managementAutomation Strong scripting abilities in Bash Python or similar languagesProblem solving Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detailUnderstanding of networking fundamentals including DNS TLS routing and load balancingStrong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non technical stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications 2 3 experience of DevOps experience in a corporate environmentExperience with containerization technologies Docker KubernetesKnowledge of cloud platforms AWS Azure or GCPFamiliarity with configuration management tools Ansible Puppet Chef SaltStackExperience with monitoring and logging solutions Prometheus Grafana ELK stackUnderstanding of security best practices and compliance frameworksRelevant certifications Linux AWS Terraform Kubernetes Firefly offers outstanding benefits for our employees including generous health dental and vision plans with low plan deductibles parental leave educational reimbursement short term disability and flexible PTO options To conform to US Government space technology export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ITAR you must be a US citizen lawful permanent resident of the US protected individual as defined by 8 USC 1324ba3 or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the US Department of State Firefly Aerospace Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with Firefly is governed based on merit competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race color religion gender national originethnicity veteran status disability status age sexual orientation gender identity marital status mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status
